Bissy — Cola acuminata, the Kola Nut — is one of the most culturally significant plants in West African history and one of the most important herbs in African traditional medicine. Used for over 1,000 years across West and Central Africa in ceremony, trade, diplomacy, and medicine, Kola Nut was the sacred hospitality offering across cultures from Nigeria to Ghana to Sierra Leone. It is also the plant that originally gave Coca-Cola its name and a significant portion of its original formula.

In Igbo culture of Nigeria, Kola Nut is called "the king of fruits" and is present at every major life ceremony — births, marriages, funerals, and diplomatic meetings. Traditional Yoruba and Hausa healers have used it medicinally for generations. In Jamaica and the Caribbean it is known as Bissy and used as a traditional remedy for poisoning and as a general tonic herb.

1,000 years of West African tradition. The original Cola. Sacred to this day.
